I attended the New England boat show yesterday. It was quite an event with lots of new boats and service professionals. Here are a few informational snippets gathered in conversations with the pros. Re powering costs can be held down by reusing engine components in good condition. Replacing a gas inboard with a diesel costs roughly twice as much. Water-based anti fouling paints are trending heavily in the category. Insurance carriers are becoming increasingly concerned about risks associated with alcohol consumption. And, finally, boat condition over time is more closely related to boat maintenance than brand.
