Classics
Boat building has come a long way since the early 1960s, as it was about this time that the transition from wood to fiberglass began. Today, virtually all new boats are made from fiberglass which provides the benefits of low maintenance and leak-free operation. While these are welcome qualities, one thing that I believe has been overlooked is the sheer natural beauty of wood.. While new wood boats are far and few between, there still are a few classic boats available to be viewed at Antique and Classic Boat Society events in MA. NH, and NY. and the NH Boat Museum. So, if you like the natural look and of wood, don’t despair, make plans to attend one of the upcoming events and enjoy yourself.
