Here in New England, December is somewhat of a mixed bag for boaters. Monday, December 21 is the shortest day of the year and Friday, December 25 is Christmas. Now, it’s difficult to substitute on-water time with anything else, but Christmas is likely near the top of the list. The holiday oftentimes stimulates the exchange of useful boat gifts that can be used season after season. Everything is fair game from drinking tumblers that keep beverages cold to chart plotters that help ensure safe navigation, and everything in between. So, if you’re feeling a bit out of the action, like your boat under winter cover, create some marine gift lists and hand them out freely to family and friends.
