Repowering, the very word stimulates feelings of excitement and anxiety simultaneously in most power boaters.
Positive images surface, such as shiny new engines pushing the boat to speeds once only dreamed about. And negative images bubble up, like the impact of critical part shortages and questionable installation practices.
Interestingly, the exploration process uncovers a myriad of important details ranging from the integration of in-place and new wiring harnesses to transom sterndrive mounting hole sizes.
A word of advice based on experience – take things slow and be as careful as possible, as mistakes can be large and possibly difficult to live with.
