Battleship Cove, An Interesting Alternative
Most boat museums in the Northeast close around Columbus Day, but there is one display of “boats” that stays open year around, namely Battleship Cove, America’s Fleet Museum, located in Fall River, MA. The venue features: Battleship Massachusetts, Destroyer USS Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr., Submarine USS Lionfish, and two PT boats, along with many other fascinating exhibits. Vintage Race Boat Regatta – Sept. 18 & 19
The 2015 Vintage Race Boat Regatta is slated for September 18 and 19 in Wolfeboro Bay in Wolfeboro New Hampshire. The New Hampshire Boat Museum is the event organizer of this popular biennial event which is sanctioned the American Power Boat Association. Many different types of vintage racers will be participating in heats on the one mile oval shaped course on Friday and Saturday. If you enjoy the sights and sounds associated with vintage race boats, this is an event to attend.
