In the Northeast, it’s a long cold slog between fall haul-out and spring splash. Unless you’re well-off and can afford to “fly south” it can be a challenging time. Fortunately, the winter boat shows provide welcome respite from this dreary landscape. 46th Annual Newport International Boat Show, September 15 – 18th
It’s hard to believe, but summer is winding down, and the fall boat shows are on the horizon. The Newport show is particularly enjoyable due to its downtown location; in-water boat displays; accessory booth variety; and weekend workshops. The show always features an interesting mix of traditional and new products. Advance tickets are available at a discount through organizations such as Boat U.S. If you’re a boater and live anywhere within a few hours of Newport, this is a show that you won’t want to miss.
