Maine Boatbuilders Show, March 18-20, Portland ME
The annual Maine Show is coming up fast. The Show will feature a broad and diversified group of marine specialists. Boat builders that work with metal, fiberglass, and wood will be on hand, as well as boat yards, marinas, paint manufacturers, electronic manufacturers, and many others. The Boatbuilders Show is very different from more mainstream shows held further south in that the setting is a large, old, rambling commercial waterfront structure and the environment has a strong Downeast flavor. If you consider yourself a real boat enthusiast, this show is well worth the trip.
Simple Pleasures
Recently, a friend loaned me a dinghy that had not seen the water in over 10 years. During that time, the homely, but solid, little white fiberglass pram had been “stored” outside in a corner of the driveway and it looked pretty shabby.
