35th Annual Antique and Classic Boat Festival, Sunday, August 27th
Summer is not over yet, but it’s certainly winding down. The sun is setting earlier and the average temperature is dropping, both not exactly good news for local boaters. However, there is one positive thing on the horizon, namely the Boat Festival slated for next Sunday, August 27th, 11 am – 3 pm, at the Brewer Hawthorne Cove Marina, Salem MA.
Recently, I’ve been to some great events in NH and NY, however, those locations can be a bit distant for many Boston-based boaters. This Festival is to be held in Salem, MA making attendance quick and convenient. All sorts of mostly wood boats will be in the water on display from schooners to mahogany speedboats. And, there will be a a wide range of characters there: boat owners, boat lovers, and non-boaters just seeking a new and exciting event. The admission fee, at $5 per adult, is easy to handle. I’ve attended this show a number of times and it’s a really good one. If you like antique and classic boats, be sure to put this one on your calendar.
