Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show

November 3, 2019

It is hot and sunny in southern Florida, perfect weather for attendees of the FLIB show which wraps up today. Naturally, with a show this large, there is a broad array of boats on display, but a few caught my attention when recently reading the reviews.

The Ferretti group displayed the 48 Wallytender, a luxury yacht tender that can achieve 48 knots when powered by twin Volvo Penta IPS650s which deliver a total of 960 horsepower. Lexus introduced the Lexus 650, a 65-foot production motor yacht slated to be the first of series of Lexus yachts. Cox   Powertrain, headquartered in Britain, put its first diesel outboard, the Cox CXO 300, on display. And, new “crossover” models, positioned to support a diversity of boating activities, were highlighted by Sea Ray and Boston Whaler, among others.

The FLIB show is one of the world’s largest recreational boat events. If you like viewing the latest offerings in a comfortable outdoor environment, be sure to scratch this one into your 2020 calendar.
