Maine Boat Builders Show 2018
This past weekend I attended the Annual Maine Boat Builders show in Portland, Maine.
There were lots of interesting vendor displays of small rowing boats to large custom lobster yachts, and bottom paints to solar systems. Industry association and marine vocational school reps helped round out the mix.
Historically, this show stood out from others due to its unique location and the knowledge level of booth representatives and attendees. alike. While this show’s venue, a youth sport complex, did not have the same character as the old train depot it replaced, boaters at the show displayed the usual high level of knowledge, making the process of swapping notes an enjoyable one.
If you’re into Maine, Maine-built boats, or simply deep boat conversations, put this one on your calendar for next year. It’s a keeper.
