Maine Boatbuilders Show, Friday, March 24 – Sunday, March 26
The spring boat show season is moving into high gear. The New England show finished a couple of weeks ago, and the Maine Show is on the horizon. While both shows feature new boats and marine services, there is a decided difference in the “feel” of them. The New England show is big, and revolves around recreational fiberglass production craft from a variety of large boat manufacturers. The Maine show is more intimate, and is comprised of small custom boat builders who work with wood and fiberglass, oftentimes using commercial Down East hull designs as their foundations. Both shows are fun. If you want to stay engaged on the boating front, during the upcoming month, take a quick trip to Portland, you’ll be glad you did.
