The spring commissioning process is nearing completion with a number of small, but important, tasks accomplished this weekend from spraying wiring connections to clearing excess gear from the cabin. Night Vision

It’s been a good summer for boating, with a number of long, sunny days promoting leisurely rides homeward after the traditional dinner hour. Those days aren’t gone yet, but sunset is definitely coming earlier and earlier, reducing the return trip time envelope measurably.  Now, boating after dark, especially if the air temperature is warm, is a great experience, but without daylight, it can be a dangerous one as well. Maine Boatbuilders Show, March 18-20, Portland ME

The annual Maine Show is coming up fast. The Show will feature a broad and diversified group of marine specialists. Boat builders that work with metal, fiberglass, and wood will be on hand, as well as boat yards, marinas, paint manufacturers, electronic manufacturers, and many others. The Boatbuilders Show is very different from more mainstream shows held further south in that the setting is a large, old, rambling commercial waterfront structure and the environment has a strong Downeast flavor. If you consider yourself a real boat enthusiast, this show is well worth the trip.
