Recently, several major boating publications have run pieces on hydrofoil boats. These boats rise up out of the water on submerged foils attached to the hull. They offer a smooth ride and excellent fuel efficiency. Historically, recreational boat applications have encountered technical issues which have made them suitable in a limited number of settings.
