Recently we produced a show on Maine lobster boats. It was interesting to learn of the various boats built by the Beal Yards, Holland, Wesmac, and John’s Bay. While the lengths were similar, typically in the 32 to 50’ range, each boat had a different “personality”. You can tell a Holland from a Wesmac pretty easily, even with an untrained eye. The design has stood the test of time, and as long as there are lobsters, there will be Maine lobster boats to catch them.
