Battleship Cove, An Interesting Alternative
Most boat museums in the Northeast close around Columbus Day, but there is one display of “boats” that stays open year around, namely Battleship Cove, America’s Fleet Museum, located in Fall River, MA. The venue features: Battleship Massachusetts, Destroyer USS Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr., Submarine USS Lionfish, and two PT boats, along with many other fascinating exhibits. Battleship Cove is open virtually year around with a few holiday exceptions. So while you can wait until summer to view many of the exhibits, consider going on a decent winter day.
