Frost Biting – An Interesting Alternative

January 26, 2014

We’re deep into winter now, and there’s not much local boating going on. Strong and steady breezes notwithstanding, the fleet is primarily dry-docked. But, there is a contingent of small boat skippers that still “splash” their boats on a regular basis – the Frost Biting crew. Years ago, the Frost Biting weekend events revolved around 9′ Dyer Dows, wetsuits and winter gear. These days, I imagine it involves the same gear and offers the same opportunity to get active on the water during cold winter months. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but, as they say, don’t knock it until you try it.
